Job Description
Title: SR. MASS PROPERTIES ENGINEER
Location: Englewood, CO (On-site)
Pay Rate: $74.00 per hour
Hours: 40 hours per week
Duration: Contract (7 Months+)
Summary:
Take a leading role in ensuring the physical integrity and performance of advanced aerospace products for a premier engineering team. This position oversees comprehensive weight control plans and tracks weight and Center of Gravity (CG) estimates for large aircraft modifications and quick-reaction upgrades. Ideal candidates bring deep expertise in aerospace weight standards, parametric estimation, and hands-on aircraft weighing support.
Description – Sr. Mass Properties Engineer:

Take a leading role in developing and executing comprehensive weight control plans for large-scale aircraft modifications.

Support multiple concurrent programs ranging from conceptual design studies to active quick-reaction system upgrades from a mass properties perspective.

Generate, optimize, and maintain comprehensive mass properties databases to track precise weight and Center of Gravity (CG) estimates.

Lead and support physical aircraft weighings on-site, ensuring all associated calibration forms and charts are precisely documented.

Act as the primary technical point of contact for mass properties reporting across the organization.

Communicate effectively with multi-disciplinary design teams, external stakeholders, and aerospace component suppliers to manage weight allocations.
Qualifications – Sr. Mass Properties Engineer:

Bachelor of Science degree in an engineering or related technical discipline.

Typically 10+ years of dedicated professional experience specializing in aerospace mass properties engineering.

Deep technical knowledge of SAWE Recommended Practices RP-7 and RP-8 is required.

Proven experience building highly accurate mass properties estimates directly from CAD data.

Demonstrated expertise in Parametric Weight Estimation, model-based definition (MBD), and conceptual level design support.

Proven track record serving as the primary author for official, compliance-ready weight and balance reports.

Preferred experience with Dassault 3DX, SolidWorks, or similar parametric modeling tools.

Recent Automated Weight and Balance System (AWBS) training (within the last three years) and familiarity with Commercial Derivative Aircraft (CDA) for military programs are highly desirable.
