Job Description

Our Pharma client is seeking a Programmer to join their team! This role is pivotal in supporting their Scientific Services Platform (SSP) and Biological Entities Sequence Store (BESST), bridging the gap between custom application development and commercial software integration.
The ideal candidate is an independent worker who thrives in a technical environment that blends modern cloud architecture with complex biological data systems.
Core Responsibilities
  • Systems Implementation: Lead the integration and configuration of Commercial-Off-The-Shelf (COTS) software while developing custom application layers to ensure seamless data flow.
  • Cloud Development: Maintain and enhance the Scientific Services Platform (SSP) utilizing a serverless architecture.
  • Biological Data Management: Support the BESST (Biological Entities Sequence Store) across its service, sequence, and business layers.
  • Platform Integration: Manage development and configuration for PPM (Clarizen) to streamline project management workflows.
  • Technical Adaptability: Quickly learn and implement new languages, frameworks, and technologies as project requirements evolve.
Technical Qualifications
  • Software Development: Strong grasp of coding standards, requirement/defect tracking, and rigorous testing protocols.
  • Version Control: Proficiency with source code repositories, with specific experience in GIT being highly preferred.
  • DevOps Practices: Solid understanding of Continuous Integration (CI) workflows.
  • AWS Ecosystem: Practical experience with Lambda, Step Functions, and API Gateway.
Education & Background
  • Experience: Proven track record in complex systems implementation and integration.
  • Scientific Knowledge: A background in Science (Biology, Chemistry, or related fields) is considered a significant plus, as it will aid in understanding the data handled by the BESST and SSP platforms.
