Job Description
The ideal candidate has a deep background in life sciences (Biochemistry/Molecular Biology) coupled with expert-level mastery of the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) and product lifecycle management.
Key Responsibilities
- Product Strategy & Roadmap: Lead the end-to-end vision for a portfolio of Bioinformatics products. Translate complex scientific requirements into actionable multi-year roadmaps that serve 1,000+ R&D users.
- Operational Excellence: Define and automate processes for product intake, scoping, and delivery to increase speed-to-market.
- Agile Leadership: Oversee multiple cross-functional "Release Trains" (10+ agile teams) to deliver high-impact product capabilities (50+) annually.
- Stakeholder & Vendor Management: Partner with C-suite stakeholders and external software vendors to align roadmaps, influence market trends, and ensure 100% budget/contract compliance.
- User Adoption & Growth: Utilize data-driven KPIs and knowledge graphs to identify adoption gaps. Implement change management strategies that drive measurable increases in user engagement and stakeholder satisfaction.
- Mentorship: Provide subject matter expertise to junior Product Managers and Business Analysts, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and technical excellence.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or a related scientific field. (Understanding the "bench" is critical for this role).
- Experience: 6–8 years of experience in R&D IT Product Management, specifically within the Biotech or Pharmaceutical industry.
- Technical Mastery: Proven experience with Bioinformatics tools, SaaS development, and Benchling or similar electronic lab notebooks (ELN).
- Agile Certification: Deep knowledge of SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework); experience as a Release Train Engineer (RTE) or Scrum Master is highly preferred.
- Analytical Skills: Ability to build data models, capability maps, and use metrics to prove a 15–20% YoY growth in product efficiency or adoption.
- Pay range: $90/hr - $100/hr
