Job Description
Responsibilities of the Logistics Specialist I:
- Assist with the preparation of logistics documentation for spares, tools, test equipment, materials, and related manuals.
- Support the routing, documenting, and coordination of all shipping logistics.
- Track logistics materials and parts to ensure proper allocation and stocking in storage facilities.
- Collaborate with teams to maintain accurate records of equipment, components, repair parts, and related manuals.
- Learn and apply applicable state, federal, and global regulations, including import/export requirements.
- Qualifications of the Logistics Specialist I:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance.
- Must be able to pass required testing: Hearing exam, Ishihara eye exam, and a Non-DOT physical.
- 0-1+ years of hands-on experience in logistics, inventory, or a related field.
- Proficiency in basic Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Ability to frequently lift or carry up to 50 lbs and meet all physical requirements of the role (e.g., frequently walk, sit, stand, climb stairs).
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with inventory and supply chain/logistics principles.
- Exposure to inventory databases (e.g., AvPro) and shipping databases (e.g., FedEx, DHL, UPS).
- HazMat Training/Certification.
- Ability to operate a forklift.
- Background in the Aerospace and Defense industry, the US Department of Defense, or the US Military.
