Links Technology is seeking a driven and skilled Mass Properties Engineer to join our client's team in Vandalia, OH. Our client is a leading aerospace and defense firm, renowned for delivering customer-focused technology and best-of-breed integrations. This Contract role offers the opportunity to apply your expertise to design and create groundbreaking aerospace and defense technologies. The contract length is 4 months, with potential for extension.

Responsibilities of the Mass Properties Engineer:
- You'll have the opportunity to apply your knowledge and experience to design and create the most groundbreaking aerospace and defense technologies - those that exist today and those that will shape tomorrow.
- You will research, design, develop, test, certify, deploy and support cutting edge products & services.
- These cover a very wide range from state of the art mission payloads and electronic systems through highly integrated aircraft.
- You'll be responsible for developing aircraft weight and balance estimates for large transport aircraft and working ballast plans and flight clearances for flight test activities.
- Your technical responsibilities involve the design and development, analysis, and test of new products and processes throughout the product lifecycle.
Qualifications of the Mass Properties Engineer:
- Bachelor's of Science degree in a related discipline and typically 6 or more years of relevant experience
- Basic knowledge of engineering principles and practices
- Experience working in multi-disciplinary design & development teams
- Exposure to aircraft weighing
- Experience with weight and balance analysis and verification
- Automated Weight and Balance System (AWBS) trained and prior experience with aircraft weight and balance paperwork (Chart A, Form B, Chart C, Chart E, Form F)
- Exposure to Computer Aided Design (CAD) tools such as CATIA and SolidWorks
- Previous experience generating ballast plans to support flight test activities
- Knowledge of industry standard aerospace principles, to include, but not limited to parametric design, model-based definition, fundamentals of mass properties engineering
- Understanding of aircraft systems
- Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry, US Department of Defense and/or US Military
- The ability to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance may be required
