<strong>Role Overview</strong><br />
Are you looking for a challenging opportunity that leverages your advanced technical expertise? Our client is seeking an <strong>Engineering Technician III</strong> to join their team in Vandalia. This role is a critical part of a direct-funded effort, responsible for complex technical tasks including the construction, troubleshooting, calibration, and maintenance of sophisticated electronic, mechanical, and optical systems.<br />
As a senior technician, you will lead project teams and provide the technical expertise necessary to ensure operational excellence across various research and development projects.<br />
<strong>Key Responsibilities</strong>

<ul>
&#9;<li><strong>System Assembly:</strong> Lead the assembly and construction of complex electronic, mechanical, and optical systems.</li>
&#9;<li><strong>Troubleshooting & Repair:</strong> Perform and oversee advanced troubleshooting and repairs on high-level equipment.</li>
&#9;<li><strong>Calibration & Testing:</strong> Conduct precise calibration and testing of devices; analyze and interpret results to provide detailed reports and recommendations.</li>
&#9;<li><strong>R&D Collaboration:</strong> Partner with engineers on research and development projects to refine designs and systems.</li>
&#9;<li><strong>Safety & Compliance:</strong> Develop and implement safety protocols and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).</li>
&#9;<li><strong>Instrumentation:</strong> Work with aircraft test instrumentation, including the installation and monitoring of <strong>strain gauges and accelerometers</strong>.</li>
</ul>
<strong>Required Qualifications</strong>

<ul>
&#9;<li><strong>Education:</strong> Associateâs degree in a related technical field. (In the absence of a degree, a minimum of 5 years of related experience is required).</li>
&#9;<li><strong>Experience:</strong> 3+ years of experience as a technician working with complex systems.</li>
&#9;<li><strong>Technical Literacy:</strong> Ability to read and interpret mechanical/electrical drawings, diagrams, schematics, and technical manuals.</li>
&#9;<li><strong>Tool Proficiency:</strong> Hands-on experience with standard laboratory test equipment, measurement tools, and both hand and power tools.</li>
&#9;<li><strong>Troubleshooting:</strong> Advanced proficiency in maintaining and repairing complex integrated systems.</li>
</ul>
<strong>Preferred Skills & Experience</strong>

<ul>
&#9;<li><strong>Industry Knowledge:</strong> Previous experience or certifications within the <strong>Aerospace and Defense</strong> industry.</li>
&#9;<li><strong>Design Tools:</strong> Experience with <strong>AutoCAD</strong> or other 3-D CAD software.</li>
&#9;<li><strong>Protocols:</strong> Basic understanding of communication protocols such as <strong>1553, ARINC 429, CAN Bus, and Ethernet</strong>.</li>
&#9;<li><strong>Leadership:</strong> Proven experience leading technical teams in a manufacturing or R&D environment.</li>

<strong>Physical Requirements & Working Conditions</strong>

<ul>
&#9;<li>Ability to lift up to 30 lbs regularly.</li>
&#9;<li>Ability to remain on your feet for the majority of the work shift.</li>
&#9;<li>High level of dexterity for handling and assembling small, delicate components.</li>
&#9;<li>Occasional exposure to hazardous conditions and loud environments.</li>
&#9;<li>Willingness to travel as required.</li>

Our client is seeking a skilled <strong>Electrical Engineer II</strong> to serve as an <strong>Instrumentation Specialist</strong> for a high-impact, direct-funded aerospace project. In this role, you will be responsible for the research, design, and integration of instrumentation with aircraft systems (mechanical and electrical) to support data collection for critical <strong>FAA/MIL certification requirements</strong>.<br>
You will bridge the gap between hardware design and real-world testing, ensuring all data acquisition systems meet rigorous NIST standards for calibration and verification.<br>
<strong>Key Responsibilities</strong>
