Job Description
Links Technology is currently seeking a motivated and skilled Electrical Engineer III to join our client's team in Vandalia, OH. Our client is a leading aerospace and defense firm. This is a Six-month+ contract role offering the opportunity to contribute to the development of cutting-edge aerospace and defense technologies.
Responsibilities of the Electrical Engineer III:
- Design and integrate instrumentation with aircraft systems (mechanical and electrical) to support data collection for FAA/MIL certification.
- Maintain NIST standards for calibration and verification, meticulously documenting and controlling all calibrations.
- Support hardware and software requirements for data acquisition systems and IADS real-time displays.
- Perform functional analysis, timeline analysis, trade studies, requirements allocation, and interface definition to translate instrumentation requirements into hardware/software specifications.
- Develop, modify, and implement standard operating procedures for hardware and system design.
- Initiate and execute problem-solving for both new product designs and existing products.
- Execute engineering design and development activities aligned with customer quality, cost, and schedule requirements.
- Collaborate with teams to integrate designs ensuring compliance with customer requirements and industry standards.
- Maintain detailed logs and manuals documenting equipment testing and operation.
- Serve as a technical liaison to the Engineering Manager, providing critical engineering insights.
Qualifications of the Electrical Engineer III:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in aircraft instrumentation design and integration within the aerospace/defense sector.
- Proficiency in electrical design, schematic development, circuit card/board design, and telemetry systems.
- Experience with data acquisition systems, NIST calibration standards, and FAA/MIL certification requirements.
- Familiarity with IADS (Interactive Analysis and Display System) real-time displays.
- Strong understanding of Ethernet, MIL-STD-1553, ARINC 429, and CAN bus protocols.
- Excellent Problem-Solving abilities.
- Strong Communication and collaboration skills.
